A daily word game: one grid a day, the same for everyone

Wordnook gives you a fresh grid of letters every day. Everyone gets the same grid, you find as many English words as you can in it, and you come back tomorrow for the next one. This page explains how the daily format works and what we chose to leave out.

Updated 2026-10-23

Wordnook is not released yet. This page describes the game as we are building it, and it is coming to Android and iPhone.

One grid a day

Each day has a single grid. It is the same for every player, so a friend who played this morning faced the same letters you will face tonight. When you finish, there is nothing more to play until tomorrow, and we think that is a feature. A game that ends is a game that fits into a day.

How you play it

You swipe across neighboring letters, in any direction including diagonals, to spell English words. Each letter can be used once in a word. Words need at least 3 letters, or 4 on larger grids. Longer words score more points. The full rules are in how to play.

Your streak

Your streak counts the days in a row on which you found at least one word. We set the bar deliberately low. The point of a streak is to build a small daily habit, not to punish you for a bad day. You can also set an optional daily reminder at a time you choose.

Progress inside a day

There is no fixed target to hit. Instead, the game marks milestones when you have found 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the words in that day's grid. Common everyday words count toward the total, and rarer words give bonus points. You can stop at any milestone and still have had a full game.

Hints

If you are stuck, a hint shows an arrow pointing to the first letters of a word you have not found yet. It points you at the start of a word. You still spell the rest.

Sharing your result

You can send a summary of your day to friends and family. It shows your score and progress without revealing any of the words, so nobody's game is spoiled.

The archive

The archive is a calendar of your results for every day you played. With Premium, every past puzzle is also available to play.
